Extraction of planting condition in paddy fields

Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) can observe the earth surface in any weather conditions. SAR sensor observes the roughness on the ground surface mainly. The planting conditions in paddy fields are detected by backscattering difference of SAR data. These images below show the planting condition of the paddy fields in Higashi-Hiroshima City using ERS-1 and RADARSAT.
